Every creation begins with a concept, which can develop from a picture in a magazine, something one sees in a movie or television show, even from a pleasing form you see around you every day.  From this concept a workable drawing is made; a sketch which becomes the 'blueprint' for all costume construction reference.  We will work from a sketch you make yourself or we'll design something for you based on your vision and unique sources of inspiration.

Construction of most items we make begins with a sculpting stage where the armor or prop is rendered in a temporary form from which a mold is made.  This mold will lend casts of various materials which, with painting and assembly, become the final product.

Molding and Casting is the process that allows us to quickly and precisely re-create specific pieces of armor and weapons if required.  Molds for all of our items are warehoused, therefore all of the items seen on this site can be cast and re-created in every detail.

Armor and props are painted and adorned by hand.  Attention to detail is what Facing strives for, so an item is never considered finished when it is pulled out of the mold.  There is much more to do to make a piece look authentic.

A costume on a living body is another story.  Using your individual measurements, we'll make sure your costume fits comfortably.
